The Pontoon Beach Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Ceontae Matthews (age 34). At approximately 3:11am, officers responded to the 4000 block of Pontoon Road for a report of a shooting. There they found Ceontae Matthews suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later passed away from his injuries.
As a result of this investigation, the following individuals were charged in Ceontae’s death:
Davondrea Williams (age 22) - 1st Degree Murder, Unlawful Use of Weapons – Machine Gun, and Felon in Possession of a Weapon
Malik Simpson (age 20) - Aggravated Battery and Obstructing Justice
Deonna Williams (age 24) - Obstructing Justice
Decarlon Traylor (age 46) - Obstructing Justice
