The Cahokia Heights Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Daniel Nunn (age 19). At approximately 1:14pm, officers responded to the area of Melvin Drive and Lazarcheff Drive for a report of a shooting. Daniel Nunn (age 19) was located in a residential yard. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene. Daniel had been reported missing through the Washington Park Police Department prior to his death.
As a result of this investigation, Jahrie Samudio (age 17 - charged as an adult) was charged with 1st Degree Murder in Daniel’s death.
