The Cahokia Heights Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Daniel Nunn (age 19). At approximately 12:02pm, officers responded to an area between Melvin Drive and Lazarcheff Drive for a report of a deceased person. Daniel Nunn was located in a residential yard. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene. Daniel had been listed as a missing person with the Washington Park Police Department on 03-20-2024 after having not been seen since 03-18-2024.
As a result of this investigation, Jahrie Samudio (age 17 - charged as an adult) was charged with 1st Degree Murder in Daniel’s death.
