The Berkely Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the deaths of Jorge Andres Cantor Pinzon (age 37) and Jaron Jackson-Craig (age 34). At approximately 2:31pm, officers responded to the 8300 block of Airport Road for a report of a shooting on a Metro bus. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered Jorge Andres Cantor Pinzon and Jaron Jackson-Craig had both been shot. They were both transported to the hospital where they each died from their injuries. The shooter had fled from the scene in a vehicle which was later determined to have been stolen in a carjacking in Bellefontaine Neighbors earlier in the day.
As a result of this investigation, Anthony Frazier (age 36) was charged with 2 counts Murder 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and 4 counts of Armed Criminal Action. He was arrested on a no-bond warrant.
