The Collinsville Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Tyrese Owens (age 21). At approximately 11:00am, officers responded to the area of Loop Street and South Morrison Avenue for a report of a person laying in a ditch. Officers discovered Tyrese with a severe laceration to the chest. He was pronounced dead on scene.
As a result of this investigation, Carlos Mosley (age 23) and Amari McGee (age 22) were each charged with 1st Degree Murder.
