The East Alton Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Adell Davenport (age 63). At approximately 1:08am, officers responded to the 300 block of West Main Street for a report of a person stabbed. The victim, Adell Davenport, had already been transported by private vehicle to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
As a result of this investigation, Adell’s estranged husband, John Davenport (age 54) was charged with two counts of 1st Degree Murder.
