The Cahokia Heights Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Miljavon Sawyer (age 21). At approximately 3:41 pm, officers responded to the 5800 block of Pocket Road for a report of a body in a field. Upon arrival, officers located Miljavon’s body. He had been shot multiple times and his body set on fire. He was pronounced dead on scene.
