Victim: James M. Huch

The East Alton Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of James Huch (age 55). At 1:11am, police officers responded to Stor-All Self Storage Center (642 West St Louis Avenue) with the fire department for a fire in the facility. A deceased body was located inside one of the storage units. The body was later determined to be James Huch.

After a thorough investigation, it was determined the fire accidentally started while James was inside the storage unit. James died as a result of the fire.
