The Madison County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Miguel Villegas De-Santiago (age 18). At 2:10pm, deputies responded to the 3300 block of Princeton Ave near Collinsville for a report of a shooting with a male subject shot inside a vehicle. There they located Miguel Villegas De-Santiago who had been shot. He was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
As a result of this investigation, the following criminal charges were issued in connection with Miguel’s death:
Albert Campos (age 18) - 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, and Reckless Discharge of a Firearm - Bond $3,000,000
Matias Herrera (age 26) - 1st Degree Murder - Bond $2,000,000
