The Berkeley Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Todd Bishop Jr (age 34). At 3:46am, police officers responded to the 8000 block of Busiek Avenue for a report of shots fired. There they located Todd Bishop Jr who had been shot multiple times. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
As a result of this investigation, a neighbor, Jalen Black (age 22), was charged with Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action. His bond was set at $1,000,000.
