The Ferguson Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Austin Phillips. At approximately 9:40pm, officers responded to the area of Gage Drive at Highmont Drive to investigate a call of shots fired. There officers located Austin Phillips (age 26) who had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died from his injury.
As a result of this investigation, Garry Rodgers (age 24) was charged with Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action. A no-bond warrant was issued for his arrest.
