The Belleville Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Douglas Cimperman. Officers responded to the ZX Gas Station, located at 420 Carlyle Avenue, where they located ZX employee Douglas Cimperman (age 51) who had been shot and killed. It is believed Douglas was a random victim during an attempted Armed Robbery at approximately 10:39pm.

The suspect is a black male wearing a light colored hooded sweatshirt and black pants. He fled the scene on foot.
