The Ferguson Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Rashon Butler. At approximately 8:23pm, officers responded to the 300 block of South Dellwood. Upon arrival they located Rashon Butler (age 30). He had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
As a result of this investigation, John Thompson Jr (age 33) was charged with Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action. His bond was set at $500,000.
Investigators are still looking for a white 2014 Ford Escape with Missouri registration LF8J6R. The vehicle has 4 doors, tinted windows, a moon roof, and a bullet hole on the passenger side of the vehicle. An exemplar photo of the vehicle is shown.
