The Madison County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Damian Huber. On 08/16/2018 at approximately 11:09pm, officers responded to the 150 block of Oak Street in Cottage Hills for a call of shots fired. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered Damian Huber (age 24) had been shot during a home invasion. Damian was at the residence visiting someone who lived there. Damian was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries.
As a result of this investigation, the following charges were issued in this case:
Bradley Payne (age 29) and Lorenzo Williams (age 28) - 1st Degree Murder (3 cts), Armed Robbery, Home Invasion, Felon in Possession of a Firearm - Bradley’s bond set at $1,000,000; Lorenzo’s bond set at $2,500,000
Kevin Payne (age 31) and Jamal Scott (age 32) - 1st Degree Murder (3 cts), Armed Robbery, Home Invasion - Kevin’s bond set at $1,000,000; Jamal’s bond set at $2,500,000
