The Hazelwood Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Gary Canamore. At approximately 7:59pm, police officers responded to the 5300 block of Forest Creek Drive for a report of shots fired. When they arrived on scene, they found Gary Canamore (age 22) behind a residence suffering from gun shot wounds. He was transported to the hospital where he died.
