The Cahokia Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Traenez Brown. Police responded to Westwood Dr for a report of three people being struck by gunfire. Traenez Brown (age 15) died on scene from his gunshot wounds. Two other people (both age 16) were transported to the hospital with gunshot injuries.
As a result of the investigation, Arnett Ramsey (age 16) was charged as an adult with 1st Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery/Discharge of Firearm. His bond was set at $750,000.
