The Cahokia Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad to investigate the death of Javon Gibson. At approximately 6:57am, Cahokia police officers responded to the area of Doris Avenue at the I-255 overpass for a report of a man down. Officers arrived on scene and located Javon Gibson (age 20) who was unconscious. Javon was pronounced deceased at the scene.
