The Cahokia Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad to investigate the murder of Akeem Haynes. At approximately 8:29pm, police officers responded to a report of a person shot near the 30 block of West Adams Drive. Upon the officers’ arrival, they located Akeem Haynes (age 33) lying on the ground near his parked car. Akeem was transported to the hospital where he died.
