The Collinsville Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad after responding to a report of shots fired in the 800 block of South Morrison Avenue at around 12:20pm. Montrea Marshall (age 21) was located unconscious on the ground. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

As a result of the investigation into this case, Kaleb Freeman (age 23) was charged with 1st Degree Murder.
