The Cahokia Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating a shooting. On 07-01-2016 at approximately 9:15pm, police officers responded to the 900 block of Frontenac Street for a report of shots fired with a man down. There officers located a 22 year-old man lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound. The man was transported to the hospital and was not expected to live. However, his condition improved and he survived the shooting. This case remains active.
