The Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Ian Smith. At approximately 9:55am, police received a call about gunfire in the area of the 10500 block of Lilac Avenue. Police arrived at a home in the 10400 block of Gardo Court, near Shepley Dr, where they found Ian Smith (age 44) dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
As a result of this investigation, Tradell Buckner (age 20) and Jaymone Lewis (age 18) were each charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Robbery, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Armed Criminal Action. They each had bond set at $1,000,000 cash only.
