The St. Clair County Sherrif’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Leroy Short. At 11:16pm, deputies responded to the 100 block of Amelia Drive in unincorporated Cahokia in reference to a male that was shot. There they found Leroy Short (age 19) suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital were he died.
As a result of this investigation, Lamondrae Garner (age 19) was charged with Murder/Intent to Kill/Injure. His bond was set at $1,000,000.
The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis announced charges against Lamondrae Garner in the death of Leroy Short.
