The Fairview Heights Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Sean Redd. At around 9:55pm, police officers responded to an apartment complex in the 100 block of Ashley Drive for a report of shots fired. When officers arrive on scene, they found two men, one inside the apartment and one outside, who had been shot multiple times. One of the men, Sean Reed, was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.
The investigation revealed Sean Reed, Kerion "Nate" Hammond, and Jerami Clark planned to steal drugs and money from Antonio Long. A gunfight ensued during which Sean Reed (age 26) was killed and Antonio Long (age 22), was shot in the foot and injured.
Sean’s accomplices, Kerion "Nate" Hammond (age 30) and Jerami Clark (age 23), were each charged with 1st Degree Murder. Their bond was set at $2,000,000 each.
Antonio Long, who was Sean, Kerion, and Jerami’s intended target, was charged with two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. His bond was set at $500,000.
