Suspects: Tony Terron Bailey, Jerrod Corley Jr, Leroy William Coleman Jr, and John Howard Stith

The Hazelwood Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Emma Wallace. Around 2:00am, police officers responded to the eastbound lanes of I-270 near N. Lindbergh Boulevard. There they discovered four people, two men and two women, in a Jeep all suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the women, Emma Wallace (age 37), had been the front seat passenger in the Jeep. She died from her injuries. The other woman and the two men were seriously wounded from their gunshot wounds.

It was determined the suspect vehicle was a black Mercedes that had been stolen in a carjacking in Sauget, Illinois.

As a result of this investigation, the following criminal charges were issued:

  • Jerrod Corley Jr (age 24) - Murder 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action (5 counts),  Assault 1st Degree (3 counts), Unlawful Use of Weapon-Shoot At/From Motor Vehicle-Death or Injury - No Bond Warrant

  • Leroy Coleman Jr (age 20) - Murder 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action (5 counts),  Assault 1st Degree (3 counts), Unlawful Use of Weapon-Shoot At/From Motor Vehicle-Death or Injury - No Bond Warrant

  • Tony Bailey (age 21) - Murder 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action (5 counts), Unlawful Use of Weapon-Shoot At/From Motor Vehicle-Death or Injury, Assault 1st Degree (3 counts) - No Bond Warrant

  • John Stith (age 20) - Murder 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action (5 counts), Unlawful Use of Weapon-Shoot At/From Motor Vehicle-Death or Injury, Assault 1st Degree (3 counts) - No Bond Warrant
