The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of William Horstman. Deputies responded to the 300 block of Graves Lane, near Foley, for a report of a person who was unconscious and not breathing. When they arrived on scene, they located William Horstman (age 52) deceased inside his 2001 Cadillac along the side of the road. Investigators were able to determine Horstman had been struck by a vehicle. He then crawled back into his own vehicle where he died of blunt force trauma to his head and chest.
As a result of this investigation, Paulette Eaker (age 51) was charged with Felony Involuntary Manslaughter in the First Degree and Felony Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident. Her bond was set at $500,000 cash only.
