The Pacific Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the deaths of Carl Redmon and Melinda Rash. At approximately 5:13am, police officers were dispatched to the 600 block of West Union for a report of a gunshot victim inside the apartment. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered Melinda Rash (age 42) and Carl Redmon (age 50) deceased inside the residence. They had both been shot.
As a result of this investigation, Dennis Brooks (age 63) was charged with Murder 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action and Burglary 1st Degree. His bond was set at $1,000,000 cash only.
