The East St. Louis Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Antonio Jones. At approximately 3:09pm, the East St. Louis Fire Department responded to the area of 18th Street and East Broadway Avenue for a vehicle fire. The burnt body of Antonio Jones (age 43) was located inside the trunk of the vehicle. Investigation showed Jones had been shot and killed in St. Louis, MO. His body was placed in the trunk and driven to East St. Louis where it was set on fire.
