The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Deangelo Williams. At approximately 7:40am, deputies responded to the 3500 block of Piggot Avenue, in unincorporated East St Louis, for a report of a body on the ground. When deputies arrived on scene, they found Deangelo Williams (age 20) lying on a driveway. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene.

As a result of this investigation, the following criminal charges were issued:
