The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of William Harriel Jr. At around 9:26pm, deputies responded to the 100 block of Amelia near Cahokia for a report of a subject down. There they located William Harriel Jr (age 26) lying in the street. He had been shot in the head.
As a result of this investigation, Harriel’s roommate, Mohammed Abuharba (age 21), was charged with Murder/Intent to Kill/Injure and Solicitation of Murder. His bond was set at $5,000,000.
