The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of a 26 year-old woman. At approximately 2:45am, deputies responded to the Lincoln County Medical Center for a report of a death that occurred at the Sunshine Home Care (400 block of West Walnut) in Winfield. The 26 year-old woman had been located on the sidewalk in front of the Sunshine Home Care. She was transported to the Lincoln County Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. After an investigation into the woman’s death, it was determined she had died from a drug overdose. It is unknown if the overdose was accidental or intentional.
