The East St. Louis Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Elijah Mason. At approximately 10:15am, police officers responded to the 800 block of North 72nd Street for a report of a suspicious situation. There they found Elijah Mason (age 39) deceased inside a residence.
