The Madison City Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Ricky Jenkins. Shortly after midnight, police officers responded to the 200 block of Ewing Avenue for a report of a shooting that had just occurred. There they found Ricky Jenkins (age 32) who had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
