The Alton Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Sandra Wood. At approximately 3:55pm, police officers responded to the 1700 block of Central Ave for a death investigation. There they found Sandra Wood (age 73) deceased inside her residence.
As a result of this investigation, Perry Henderson (age 50) was charged with 1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, Home Invasion, Residential Burglary and Robbery in Sandra’s death. He was arrested on a no-bond warrant.
