The Pine Lawn Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Brian Brooks. At approximately 4:13pm, police officers responded to the 3900 block of Beachwood for a report of a gunshot victim in front of a residence. When officers arrived on scene they found Brian Brooks (age 47) on the ground in the 4000 block of Beachwood with a gunshot wound. Brian was pronounced dead on scene.
As a result of this investigation, Edro Odum Jr (age 50) was charged with Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action in Brian’s death. His bond was set at $300,000.
