The Cahokia Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Blake F. Munie. At approximately 10:17pm, police officers responded to the 300 block of Range Lane for a report of a shooting. When offcers arrived on scene, they they found Blake F. Munie (age 19) in the driver’s seat of a vehicle with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
As a result of this investigation, Craig Nichols, Jr (age 19) was charged with 1st Degree Murder in Blake’s death. Craig’s bond was set at $1,000,000.
