The Sauget Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Martin Lampe. At approximately 3:30am, police officers responded to a convenience store on Mississippi Avenue where they found Martin Lampe (age 22) who had been shot. Martin was taken to a hospital where he died.
Martin’s car, a gold 2002 Chevrolet Impala with 22-inch rims and tinted windows, was stolen at the time he was shot. It was recovered the following day in the 800 block of Gustav, St. Louis, MO.
As a result of this investigation, Lason Elliot (age 20) was charged with 1st Degree Murder in Martin’s death. His bond was set at $1,000,000.
