The Madison County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the deaths of John McAfee and Kelly Jackson. At approximately 11:59am, deputies responded a residence in the 400 block of 3rd Street in Williamson for a welfare check. There they located John McAfee (age 65) and John’s stepson, Kelly Jackson (age 38) inside the residence. Both men were pronounced dead on scene.
As a result of this investigation, John’s stepson and Kelly’s brother, Douglas Jackson (age 42), was charged with 1st Degree Murder (2 counts), Aggravated Battery with a Firearm (2 counts), and Armed Robbery (2 counts). He was arrested on a no-bond warrant.
