The Fairview Heights Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Raymond Trimble. Police officers responded to a residence in the 9000 block of Crest Drive for a well-being check. Church members became concerned when Reverend Trimble did not show up for a church breakfast and they called the police. Officers located Raymond Trimble (age 67) deceased inside his residence. It was believed he had been deceased for several days.
As a result of this investigation, Kevin Coley (age 48) was charged with 1st Degree Murder. His bond was set at $750,000.
