The Pacific Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Kevin Henderson. At approximately 3:15am, police officers responded to MotoMart Gas Station (279 N. Payne St) after a customer located employee Kevin Henderson who had been shot. When officers arrived, they located Kevin Henderson (age 42) inside the store dead from a gunshot wound. A review of the store’s surveillance video showed Henderson had been shot at approximately 2:55am.
During this investigation, Justin Nelson (age 25) became a suspect in the case. When detectives went to Nelson’s residence, Nelson shot himself and committed suicide. Ballistics tests were performed on the gun Nelson used to commit suicide. It was confirmed that it was the same gun used to kill Henderson.
