The Maplewood Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Rodney Marshall. At approximately 7:28pm, police officers responded to the area of Lyndover Place and Bellevue Avenue for a report of a shooting. There they located Rodney Marshall (age 22) who had been shot and killed in front of his house.
As a result of this investigation, George Wells (age 22) was charged with Murder 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action, and Attempted Robbery 1st Degree. His bond was set at $500,000.
