The Jennings Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Rick Jones Sr. Police officers responded to the 8700 block of Emilie Avenue for a report of shots being fired. While officers were en route, the call was changed to a shooting with a person down in the driveway. When officers arrived on scene, they located Rick Jones Sr (age 38) lying on the driveway. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene.
