The Des Peres Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Jeffrey Sexton. At 12:01am, police officers responded to the 11900 block of Devonshire Avenue for a report of a couple who found their son deceased inside the home. When officers arrived, they located Jeffrey Sexton (age 43) inside the residence. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene.
As a result of this investigation, the following individuals were charged with Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action in Jeffrey Sexton’s death. Their bond was set at $100,000 each.

Ervell Hoover (age 75), Jeffrey Sexton’s father-in-law
Robert Hoover (age 35), Jeffrey Sexton’s brother-in-law
