The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the assault of two men. While investigating a submerged vehicle, deputies responded to a residence in the 100 block of Mad River Lane, Elsberry, MO to make contact with the vehicle’s owner.
At the residence, they located a 61-year-old man. His hands had been tied and he had severe trauma to his face and head. They also located a 44-year-old man who had been severely beaten about the face and head. Both men were taken by helicopter to the hospital where they survived their injuries.
As a result of this investigation, the following criminal charges were issued:
William Smith (age 16 - charged as an adult) - Burglary 1st Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, Assault 1st Degree (2 counts), Robbery 1st Degree, Arson 2nd Degree, Property Damage 1st Degree, Stealing, and Tampering 1st Degree - Bond $1,000,000
Tracy King (age 22) - Burglary 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree (2 counts), Robbery 1st Degree, Arson 2nd Degree, Property Damage 1st Degree, and Tampering 1st Degree - Bond $1,000,000
Carol King (age 32) - Burglary 1st Degree and Tampering 1st Degree - Bond $500,000
