The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Eric Collins. At approximately 1:58am, deputies responded to the area of Binning Road at East Rock Creek Road near Imperial, MO for a report of a single vehicle accident. There they located Eric Collins (age 27) inside his vehicle that had gone off the road and into an embankment. It was discovered Eric had been shot and he was pronounced dead on scene.
As a result of this investigation, Kevin Butler (age 42) was charged with Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action. He was arrested on a no-bond warrant.
