The Jennings Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Stacie Stephens. At approximately 2:11am, police officers responded to a residence in the 7000 block of Florence for a report of a shooting. There they located Stacie Stephens (age 20) who had been shot. She was transported to the hospital where she died.

As a result of this investigation, Michael Howard. (age 24) was charged with Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action. His bond was set at $300,000.
