The East St. Louis Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Michael McCallum. At approximately 6:22am, police officers responded to the area of St. Louis Avenue and 6th Street. There they located Michael McCallum (age 30) inside his vehicle. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene.
