The Glendale Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the deaths of Clifford and Leona Barnett. At approximately 9:33pm, officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Barron Lane for a report of a possible homicide. When they arrived, they located Clifford Barnett (age 82) and Leona Barnett (age 75). They had both been beaten and stabbed to death. Their car had been stolen.
As a result of this investigation, Clifford and Leona’s grandson, David Barnett (age 19) was charged with Murder 1st Degree, Armed Criminal Action, and Robbery 1st Degree. He was arrested on a no-bond warrant.
