The Bridgeton Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of a 62 year-old female. At approximately 3:28am, police officers responded to DePaul Hospital (12303 DePaul Drive) for a report of an accidental injury where a person had fallen in the parking lot. As officers were en route, they were notified the person had been shot. When police arrived, they discovered the woman had been taken into the emergency room for treatment but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

After a thorough investigation, it was determined the woman had committed suicide in the parking lot by shooting herself.
