The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Christopher Murphy (age 16). At approximately 9:30pm, deputies responded to a trailer park in the 7900 block of Delmonte Street, near East St. Louis, for a report of a person lying on the ground. There they located Christopher Murphy dead on the ground. It was determined he had been killed from blunt force trauma.

As a result of this investigation, Martez Moore (age 17 -charged as an adult) was charged with 1st Degree Murder. His bond was set at $500,000.
