The Pine Lawn Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Alice Jones (age 77). At approximately 5:35pm, police officers responded to a residence in the 6100 block of Wyma Avenue for a well-being check. There they located Alice Jones inside her residence. She had been stabbed and was pronounced dead on scene.
As a result of this investigation, Frederick Davis (age 23) was charged with Murder 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action. He was arrested on a no-bond warrant.
