The Richmond Heights Police Department requested the assistance of the Major Case Squad in investigating the death of Myrod Jackson (age 22). At approximately 5:26am, a police officer was on routine patrol when he observed an abandoned 1983 Dodge Colt parked on the westbound shoulder of I-64 west of Clayton. As the officer began investigating the abandoned vehicle, a body was located at the bottom of the embankment just north of where the vehicle was parked. The body was determined to be Myrod Jackson who had been shot and was pronounced dead on scene.

As a result of this investigation, the following individuals were charged with Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action in Myrod’s death. They were each arrested on no-bond warrants.

• Mark Jones (age 17 - charged as an adult)

• Marshall Harris (age 21)

• Melvin Willis (age 20)
